Route description Circular route to Araburg
Our hike will start in the market place in Kaumberg. We will pass the war memorial with the barrel fountains, and the Heimatmuseum (Heritage Museum), before turning right and following the steps up to the parish church. From the cemetery just past the mountain settlement, we will leave the area by walking for approx. 1 km and then following a gently ascending meadow path towards Mayerhof. Now we will be able to see Araburg and – just below it – the car park of the Araburgstüberl inn. The ascent can be significantly shortened from there. We will head through the shady forest and directly to the castle. Approx. 400 m to the east of the Araburg ruins we will turn right to leave Long-Distance Hiking Route No. 04, and follow the red route to the village entrance (also marked in yellow from here). Back in the village, we will walk along Kollmannshof and Brennhof. Sonnenhangsiedlung will lead us back to the starting point.
