Description
The artists of the "Tonindustrie Scheibbs" had received their education in Vienna with Michael Powolny, Vally Wieselthier and Robert Obsieger and stood with all ceramic greats of their time like Franz Schleiss, Josef Hoffmann u. a. in friendly contact.
Expressive glazes characterize the work of the academic painter Helene Dörr, many grotesque animal figures come from the ceramist Walter Bosse, the heads u. a. by Gudrun Baudisch and dozens of designs by Hilde Heger, who later became famous in Salzburg as a sculptor.
In place of today's museum was already around 1550 the "Heyberg Hammer", which was converted in 1860/70 in an iron factory for Wagenachsen and cast iron. From 1924 to 2004, the building housed the ceramic production. All exhibited objects were created here
