Description
The Bärenköpfl is an inconspicuous ridge elevation with an altitude of 1,428 meters. It is located at the western end of the Mistelbacher Höhe, a ridge section on the Obersberg, a mountain in the Mürzsteger Alps in the Schwarza Valley in Lower Austria. It provides the connection in the main ridge of the Göller-Gippel train from the Gippel (1,669m) to the Obersberg (1,467m). The summit of the Bärenköpfl is located in the border area of the municipality of St. Aegyd im Neuwalde.
Whether sunshine or moonlight the nordicsports academy leads the winter sportsmen through the St. Aegyder mountain world. In winter, the area offers a wide range of activities for ski tours, snowshoe hikes and cross-country skiing. Over 80 kilometers of groomed cross-country trails are available for beginners, advanced skiers and professionals.
