Description

The Renaissanceschloss Schallaburg in the Melker Alpenvorland is an international exhibition centre. In addition to the changing, top-class exhibitions, exciting insights into and views of the Mostviertel await its visitors.

As the most beautiful Renaissance castle north of the Alps, Schallaburg, together with Stift Melk, is Lower Austria's most popular excursion destination. Schallaburg is above all a place of encounters: The annually changing exhibitions encourage people to think together and provide food for thought to bring home.

Castle & nature adventure

A Schallaburg excursion does not only include a visit to the exhibition. The interplay of garden, nature, castle and restaurant creates many approaches: On deckchairs, hiking trails and for your palate. Schallaburg is one of the country's greatest cultural treasures, with its architecturally charming combination of medieval palace and Renaissance-style terracotta arcade courtyard.

Top events for the whole family

Between March and December, Schallaburg presents itself as a pulsating cultural centre - with a selection of exhibition-related and culinary events. Fixed points throughout the year are the Arts and Artisan Days, the Theatre Festival and the Christmas Market.

The exhibition and guided tours are also available in English.
