Wooden Ski Museum St. Aegyd am Neuwalde

Museum

Description

Our wooden ski museum is the latest addition to our museum mile. Back in the pioneering days of skiing, the Holzschimuseum St. Aegyd is an exciting journey through a century of history in Austria. It is hard to believe that skiing was almost unknown in Austria until the 1890s. It is a private museum, which is co-supervised by the cultural and museum association St. Aegyd and is very close to the local museum (about 100 m). We are pleased to invite you to explore especially the skiing in the district Lilienfeld. You will get interesting insights into the skiing - from Matthias Zdarsky to the legendary Göllerrennen (... there was the whole national team at that time!) And the Nordic competitions around the natural hill in St. Aegyd.

You get interesting insights into different techniques, bindings, clothing ...

Gladly leads you also after arrangement of the owner itself by the exhibition. Simply call the telephone numbers 0664/73575938 or 0554/9235840.
