Obersee

The natural jewel Obersee is located south of Lake Lunz in the Mostviertel region. The crystal-clear mountain lake at 1113m above sea level can be reached via a 10km forest trail. The steep ascent is more than rewarded with a spectacle of natural beauty.

This enchanting idyll remains an insider tip among impression collectors and panorama hunters, not least because of the somewhat more challenging but extremely rewarding trail.

Framed by the mountain forest, the shimmering emerald green lake also offers a very special natural spectacle: the Schwingrasen. This protected feature consists of dense mats of floating peat moss, which begin to vibrate when walked on. However, walking on it is forbidden and could end badly.
